Dear friend

With this slogan we inaugurate our fund raisng campaign! We invite you to help us make one of our most important projects a reality: the construction of our head office located in Santa Ana, which is 30 minutes from Tegucigalpa, the capital of Honduras.

We have already progressed towards our goal, the project is about 50% complete, thanks to the support of The W.K. Kellogg Foundation, The Irish Aid and CIDICCO' s own funds. But now, we need your help to finalize the CIDICCO CENTER!

We are inviting 1000 friends who can contribute at least 100 US$ each for the project, although any contribution will be welcome and acknowledged. We thought you would like to be one of them.

We would like to take advantage of  this appeal to create a solidarity chain with CIDICCO; a common cause that will bring together more friends. In order to do that, we kindly ask you to share this invitation with other friends that you feel could and would like to help us.

Since 1989 CIDICCO has served the national and international community; promoting the exchange of experience, encouraging research, and distributing seeds of green manures. Also, CIDICCO has played a leadership role in disseminating farmer to farmer  sustainable agriculture practices, and has been a node of  information for  rural development practitioners, scientists and academics from all around the globe. CIDICCO is  presently  the only NGO  that provides these services in Latin America and one of the few in the World.

CIDICCO will begin a new stage as an organization in 2008. The Centre under construction will be the heart of new and better services for our thousands of users.   The Center will consist of: ample office space for the staff of CIDICCO as well as for our frequent visitors and an auditorium for at least 50 people that will

become a venue for the sharing of knowledge. It will also include a modern communication and information technology module that will not only provide a more efficient information and referral service to our thousands of users via Internet, it will also be used to train the rural youth of the municipality of Santa Ana. The Center will also install a green manure seed-processing plant, which will take care of the production of green manure seed that  dozens of small Honduran farmers sell. Finally and for a later stage,   we envision the creation of  the Traditional Agri-culture Museum as a recognition of the labour and contribution of small farmers.

Transparency and honesty in the use of your resources. You will know about the progress of the campaign and the building through the web site www.cidicco.hn/1000x100/eng.htm

In apreciation, we will design a monument dedicated to all the friends who have helped us build for the future.

Send us a check in US$ addressed to CIDICCO or a direct transfer to these account numbers: in US$ #1200766069 and in Honduran Lempiras #1100127594 both accounts are with BANCO ATLANTIDA and should be addressed to CIDICCO.

Thank you!
From the board of directors: Margoth Andrews, Francisco Mejia, Jacqueline Chenier, Lucy Pacheco, Milton Flores Barahona (Director)
